Meet the Maker: YVR Cookie
There are so many talented makers creating incredible products right here in British Columbia, and YVR Cookie is one we’re especially happy to feature in our gift baskets and gift boxes.
Based in Maple Ridge, BC, east of Vancouver, YVR Cookie is known for their oversized, stuffed cookies and recipes they’ve spent more than six years perfecting.
From Family Treats to a Full Time Business
YVR Cookie was founded by Monique Lisek and Konstantyn Kopystynski.
Monique has been baking for most of her life, and the idea for YVR Cookie began when she started creating her own take on the oversized, stuffed cookies she was seeing from bakers in the United States.
What started with baking treats for family and friends quickly grew into something much bigger.
Before YVR Cookie became a full time business in 2019, Monique and Konstantyn were selling their cookies from the back of their car at fitness shows. It’s a fun reminder that even successful businesses can start in unexpected places, with a good idea and a lot of hard work.
Today, YVR Cookie continues to make their cookies in Maple Ridge using quality ingredients, including European style butter, locally sourced Canadian eggs and flour, and mostly Belgian chocolate.
The Cookie That Made Them Famous
One of YVR Cookie’s best known flavours is their Cookie Butter Skor, which they call “The Cookie That Made Us Famous.”
That flavour also inspired the Cookie Butter Toffee Cookie Crisps that we carry at Fraser Valley Basket Co.
Thin, crispy and buttery, the Cookie Crisps offer a different way to enjoy those familiar cookie flavours. They’re especially good alongside a cup of coffee or tea and make a delicious addition to a gift basket or gift box.
A Little Taste from Maple Ridge
We love that our gift baskets give us an opportunity to introduce people to made in BC products they may not have tried before.
YVR Cookie is a great example. Their story started with a passion for baking and grew into a business that has become known for its oversized stuffed cookies, while their Cookie Butter Toffee Cookie Crisps have found their way into our gifts.
