Meet the Maker: Skippy's Kettlekorn
One of the things we love about Fraser Valley Basket Co. is discovering products from businesses across British Columbia and finding ways to introduce them to someone through a gift.
This month, in our Meet the Maker series, we're featuring one of the BC businesses behind a product we carry: Skippy's Kettlekorn.
A BC business making popcorn in Kamloops
Located in Kamloops, Skippy's has been making fresh-popped popcorn since 2012.
What started with popcorn being made in a basement on weekends has grown into a business whose products can now be found across Canada.
Skippy's continues to be owned and operated by founders Jon and Cody, who make their popcorn in small batches in Kamloops.
Skippy's Kettlekorn - Caramel Crunch Original
The Skippy's product we carry at Fraser Valley Basket Co. are their Caramel Crunch Original and Dark Peppermint Chocolate caramel crunch, during the Christmas holiday season.
It's the kind of treat that works particularly well in a gift basket. It's easy to enjoy, easy to share and adds something a little different to a collection of chocolates, coffee, tea and other treats.
Skippy's describes its popcorn as GMO-free and made in small batches, and its Caramel Crunch Original is available in a resealable bag, We especially like products like this because they give the recipient a chance to discover a BC business they may not have tried before.
Why we love featuring BC businesses
Our gift baskets and boxes include products from British Columbia artisans and businesses from different parts of the province. That might mean tea from Nu-Tea Company, in Mission, Too Good coffee from Vancouver, Laid Back Snacks from Surrey and popcorn from Skippy's Kettlekorn in Kamloops.
Bringing those products together is what makes a gift from Fraser Valley Basket Co. more than just a collection of items. It's also a way to discover some of the businesses making great products right here in British Columbia!
